What better season than now to celebrate the wonderful world of winter radishes? Radishes such as the Sichuan Red Beauty and the green Shawo Fruit radish were traditionally used as fruit substitutes during the cold winter months in their native northern China. And in Oaxaca, Mexico, whimsical, elaborate radish carvings are the main attraction for the annual "Noche de Rabanos" each December 23rd. We love winter radishes for their flavor and their impressive storage life!
