When you pray, go into a room alone and close the door. Pray to your Father in private. He knows what is done in private, and he will reward you.
Make a lot of effort to pray privately. Gusto mong manalangin? Pumunta ka sa iyong silid, isara mo ang pinto at nang sa ganun, ang pakikipagniig mo sa Dios ay pribado, tahimik at lihim. At bibigyan ka pa ng gantimpala ng Dios. There is something gravely wrong when one cannot pray alone anymore. Laging nagyayaya, “Hoy, mag-pray tayo. Privacy enhances concentration. Pagka public ang prayer, kadalasan nagiging performance na. Yung mga hindi sanay at yung mga tao who like to make a great impression when they are asked to lead public prayer write the prayer para maganda ang presentation. Yan ang needless burden that we have to carry when we pray in public. Kung minsan hindi na genuine ang ipinagpi-pray. Kasi you are already saying what you think people like to hear. May struggle pa kung English o Filipino ang gagamitin. Nagkakaroon pa tuloy ng ganyang mga kalituhan.
Privacy affords God-centeredness because you can pray without words when you are not with people. You can even pray beyond words. At Dios lang talaga ang kausap. Hindi kailangang laging mamutawi ang mga salita sa ating labi sapagkat nababasa ng Dios ang laman ng ating puso at isip.
