Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, demonstrates a fascial release technique to help loosen the levator scapulae muscle.

At the end of your work day, do your shoulders feel like they are up to your ears? Often, this tension that you are experiencing is the result of tightness in the levator scapulae muscle.

The levator scapulae muscle runs from the top 4 cervical vertebrae to the superior medial border of the scapula (shoulder blade). Just as the name implies, when contracted the muscle elevates your scapula.

The levator scapulae muscle can become very tight and sore from stress, sitting at your computer all day, driving your car, etc. This can result in neck pain, upper back pain, and headaches.

In today's video, I demonstrate a fascial release technique to help loosen the levator scapulae muscle. This technique can be performed daily.
