Storm Tracker Forecast - Clouds Intrude On Lunar Eclipse But We'll Take The Rain

Clouds and showers arrived right on schedule in northern California today. We'll have a gray night with scattered rain showers... not ideal weather for lunar eclipse viewing, which will peak overnight just after 1AM. The Pacific storm which is delivering the clouds and rain showers tonight will linger through Friday afternoon, but we can also expect decreasing clouds and showers from northwest to southeast across northern California from Friday morning through Friday evening. Tonight will be milder with scattered showers. Lows will range from the 30s in the mountains to the 40s in the valley and foothills. Friday will begin gray, but become blue before sunset. Highs will range from 40s in the mountains and foothills to 50s in the valley.

As that storm passes overhead, parts of our region can expect gusty wind from the south, and Modoc County is under a Wind Advisory from late tonight through Friday morning. Then, as the storm leaves our region, we'll not only have that clearing of our sky, but gusty north wind will also develop, and Saturday will be a brighter but windier day. Sunday will be milder with a mostly sunny sky. Another Pacific storm will approach Monday and will give a chance of showers and more breezes next Tuesday. We'll have fewer clouds next Wednesday, and right now Thanksgiving Day looks dry and seasonably mild. Valley lows will fall from near 50 to the upper 30s and lower 40s, while valley highs will stay in the seasonable 60s.
