Ontario education minister announces expansion of Indigenous learning in schools – Sept. 29, 2021

Stephen Lecce, Ontario’s minister of education, holds a news conference in Toronto to announce the government’s plan to expand First Nation, Métis and Inuit content in the elementary school curriculum. He is joined by Greg Rickford, the provincial minister of Indigenous affairs, James Marsden, the Chiefs of Ontario’s education portfolio holder and Anishinabek Nation’s southeast regional deputy grand chief, Joanne Meyer, the Métis Nation of Ontario’s chief operating officer, and Vivian Roy, a traditional knowledge keeper.
