Senior Taliban representative belittles Aussie diggers declaring they 'died in vain'

A Taliban spokesperson has disparaged Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan by declaring they "died in vain".

Australia supported US-led forces in removing the Taliban from power in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.

But following the regimes' resurgence last week, a senior Taliban representative has belittled the 41 Australians who died during the two-decades long conflict.
