Russia has expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in Bangladesh's energy sector. On Monday (August 18th), the Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh Alexander Vikenteviz Mantitsky in a courtesy call.Bilateral talks focused on the signing of MoUs to expand cooperation in various fields in the energy sector on the basis of mutual consent. "If it is done quickly, both countries will benefit," he said. Russia can contribute to Bangladesh's energy security and deep-sea exploration activities.Calling Russia a tried and tested friend, the Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said, "Russia can cooperate in training Bangladeshi engineers. We can also use Russia's experience in oil and gas exploration. The power and energy sector is growing steadily. A safe investment environment has been created.
