Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says it is “difficult” to know whether the state’s future response to Delta outbreaks will consist of lockdowns, given it depends on the situation in Sydney.
“It's very much dependent upon the virus numbers in Sydney, measures that they may put in place,” Mr Andrews said.
The premier said until Victoria achieves the desired number of vaccinations, there are “too many variables”.
“We don't take these decisions lightly and I wouldn't make a substance about the rest of the year in this intervening period right now and when we get the mass vax number.
“There are too many variables to be hard and fast about that.”
